Types of Internship

The internship experience within a work context can be managed flexibly (see section ‘Study Plan’ - link) and commit the student from a minimum of 75 hours, equal to 3 CFU, to a maximum of 300 hours, equal to 12 CFU.

In particular, for students who decide to devote 12 CFU to an internship, the Degree Programme offers the possibility of activating the so-called Quality traineeships, i.e. courses on specific projects agreed with contracted organisations and bodies and with a thesis related to the issues addressed during the experience. 

A further opportunity is represented by the University of Florence's Internal Traineeships and Internal Training Activities (Decree no. 1583/2021 of the University of Florence).

Internal Traineeships are carried out at the University's structures, such as the Central Administration Areas, the Library System, the Museum System, and the Service Centres, subject to their identification of the areas of activity envisaged. 

In-house training activities are also carried out at the University of Florence's Departments and Schools, collaborating in research projects or teaching experimentation activities of the teachers belonging to the teaching structure.

The latter, in order to be recognised by the training course, must envisage a work programme equivalent to at least 75 hours of activity and provide a clear definition of the training objectives(https://www.st-umaform.unifi.it/vp-574-attivita-formative-interne.html).

Please note that it is compulsory to have followed the training on specific risks in the workplace provided by the University of Florence in order to carry out any traineeship activity.
