European University Alliance EUniWell
The European University Alliance for Wellbeing (EUniWell) is an alliance founded by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programmes.
EUniWell from 2021 brings together 11 universities in a cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary perspective. Besides the University of Florence, it includes the Universities of Birmingham (England), Cologne (Germany), Constance (Germany), Inalco (France), Linnaeus (Sweden), Murcia (Spain), Nantes (France), Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Semmelweis (Hungary) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine). In addition, EUniWell is supported by more than 100 associated partners from all sectors of society.
The main mission of the consortium is to understand, improve, measure and rebalance the well-being of individuals, communities and society by working for the renewal of research and higher education.
Starting from the academic year 2022/2023, the degree course has adhered to activities within the EUniWell Project and in particular to the ‘Education towards a sustainable future’ pathway aimed at developing sustainability skills and with the awarding of microcredentials (https://bestr.it/badge/show/3490) and 3 CFUs for participating students.
The pathway takes place annually and sees the participation of students and teachers from partner universities: activities take place in April, during Green Week, at the University of Florence.
The 2024 programme will be available soon.
The international perspective represents a transversal axis also for the specific approach of the degree course that strongly focuses on the goals of the 2030 Agenda. The knowledge and skills envisaged at the exit are contextualised to support professionalisation processes that are increasingly oriented towards sustainable development.
In this sense, also the identification of companies for curricular placements must take into account their interest in environmental and social sustainability in order to foster students’ understanding of the role of education and the focus on the global international dimension.
