Quality Internship

The "Quality Internship" represents a specific form of internship aimed at providing students of the Programme Course with a highly professionalizing experience in a work context or in a particularly significant research project, combined with the production of the thesis.

The quality internship involves a commitment of 12 CFUs and the realization of the thesis on a topic consistent with the experience gained.

It is made possible by the stable collaboration of the Programme Course with high-profile Organisations and Entities affiliated with the University of Florence, but it also offers the possibility of being carried out in Unifi structures or linked to national and international research projects in which the course professors are involved (https://www.unifi.it/sites/default/files/migrated/documents/dr_1583_2021_regolamento_tirocini.pdf).

To carry out a Quality Internship, students of the Course can submit their application in response to the calls published in the News section of the website.

The dimension of sustainability is transversal to all internships in its main aspects: educational, environmental, social, economic, institutional.

Of particular importance are Quality Internships that for some years have been offering students the opportunity to carry out an internship period at the structures affiliated with the Meyer Pediatric Hospital in Florence: the Family Center, the Meyer Health Campus, and the Hospital School.

The topics explored in the internship and in the thesis may concern:

Health Education paths in public, local, regional, national contexts;

Development of organizational, relational, and didactic systems for Hospital School and Home Education;

School and health policies for territorial Welfare;

Support for parenting and family accompaniment in the dimensions of fragility in pediatric hospital contexts;

Innovative Professions and Professionalism, in socio-health contexts, for building the well-being of the child and their family in school and personal service settings;

Training of educational, formative, and pedagogical skills in healthcare and pediatric hospital contexts.

Quality Internships carried out in collaboration with Legacoop Toscana, Consortia, and Cooperatives are also well-established.

In particular, the collaboration with Legacoop Toscana opens up the opportunity to carry out an internship period and the thesis in the following areas of interest:

HR management,

Lifelong training,

Organisational development,

Corporate welfare,

Job placement of disadvantaged subjects in work, service, and social cooperatives,

Operator retention issues,

Intergenerational and ageing issues in social enterprises and the cooperative system,

Career development processes and leadership in social enterprises.
